The College offers short-term and customized skills training courses. The courses are intended for employees and for those who want to work in the hospitality industry. The course manuals are in English. However, the instructional sessions can be given in Dutch, Spanish, Sranan Tongo and Papiamentu. Today’s hospitality and tourism employees need effective skills to be successful in this highly competitive industry. The courses we offer will give them the professional knowledge and practical skills they need to do their jobs efficiently and effectively and exceed guest expectations.




Supervisors play a crucial role in every hospitality organization, because they have responsibilities to employees and managers as well as to guests. These courses cover the following supervisory skills: effective communication, orientation and training, staffing and scheduling, handling problems and conflicts, motivation and team building, time management, leadership, and improving employee performance.


Participants will obtain the academic knowledge and the professional skills required to contribute to the work environment.




CHS301 Certified Hospitality Supervisor – CHS®


Recognized worldwide, the CHS® designation is the highest acknowledgment of professionalism for supervisors in the hospitality industry.


Certification

Participants will be awarded the AHLEI Hospitality Supervisor certification and the CHS designation and CHS® pin to wear on their uniforms, if they:

a. Complete the course successfully.

b. Complete of a 3-month supervisory internship in a hospitality organization or work in a supervisory position in a hospitality organization for 3 months.




CSS302 Certified Spa Supervisor – CSS®


This certification program was developed by the International SPA Association (ISPA) in partnership with the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute for spa supervisors who are seeking additional education and recognition. The CSS course will help participants excel in their current position and move further toward their career goals.


Certification

Participants will be awarded the AHLEI Spa Supervisor certification and CSS® designation and a CSS® pin to wear on their uniforms, if they:

a. Complete the course successfully.

b. Successfully complete of a 3-month supervisory internship in a Spa or work in a supervisory position in a Spa for 3 months.

SFBO303 Supervisory Skills for Food and Beverage Service Operations

This skill training course will be adapted to the needs of your company.


Requirements

Participants will be awarded the IHTC Supervisory Skills Certificate for Restaurant and Food Service, if they:

a. Complete the course successfully.

b. Successfully complete of a 3-month supervisory internship in a restaurant, or work in a supervisory position in a restaurant/ Food Service Operations for 3 months.




SSI304 Supervisory Skills for Service in Casinos


This skill training course will be adapted to the needs of your company.


Certification

Participants will be awarded the IHTC Supervisory Skills Certificate for the Gaming Industry, if they:

a. Complete the course successfully.

b. Successfully complete of a 3-month supervisory internship in a casino or work in a supervisory position in a casino for 3 months.
